Earzz, an innovative smart home monitor, stands out by notifying you of crucial sounds using AI-driven detection, ranging from baby cries to breaking glass. This beautifully engineered and versatile smart home device sought an accompanying app, emphasising user-friendliness to align with its high-quality aesthetic.

Through collaborative discussions in the discovery phase, we pinpointed crucial features needed for a user-friendly app. From seamless onboarding to intuitive navigation and user-driven feedback, these insights guided our development to meet diverse user needs effectively.
User Flow Development: Navigating the App's Core Experiences
After finalising the feature breakdown, I started developing concise user flows for key app interactions. These roadmaps served as essential guides for ensuring intuitive and user-friendly navigation, influencing subsequent design and development decisions.

Having concluded the UX phase, I synthesised our findings and transitioned into crafting design solutions for the app. With a finalised feature list, I delved into exploring diverse solutions for each, utilising prototypes and leveraging Figma Mirror for continuous testing. This iterative process was essential in ensuring the creation of an exceptional user experience for all users.
Design Inspirations
To emulate the refined quality of the Earzz device, I crafted a moodboard inspired by the sleek styles of Apple and Sonos. This exploration of competing smart home device apps guided the design process, ensuring a clean and modern aesthetic in harmony with the device's Apple-like sophistication.
Bringing Designs to Life
I used Figma Mirror to test wireframes and high-fidelity designs on mobile devices in collaborative sessions with the client. This hands-on approach immersed us in the user experience, enabling real-time adjustments before moving into development.
Results
The revamped Earzz app reflects impactful enhancements, achieved through a collaborative effort with the device creators. Introducing a modern and clean aesthetic not only elevated user satisfaction but also streamlined processes for adding new devices and searching the sound library. This redesign garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback both during early testing and upon the product's launch to its initial customers.
